Abortion is the taking of life..and only God has the right to end life since he is the creater of life,it is not the childs fault that men and women today treat the unborn child as another example of a " throw away society" where if you dont want what you see just toss it away, like an old toothbrush. Now we treat life with such disregard that any women(teens and preteens also) who get into a situation where " oh I am pregnant" , she will just be taken to the doctor for an abortion, and back at it again to have sexual relationships and on with life. But then the country, state and counties along with the bad example of many parents give in and promote this sexual looseness in " kids" that they can do anything they want at the expense of someone elses hurt or loss.I feel sorry that the world is going to get worse because the children who are to be the future leaders will not have the right examples to promote the good of the communities they live in and promote a better world. God is not pleased with this sinful example of throwing away life at the extent of your foolish pleasures.

Only one problem - Many of us don't believe in anything supernatural, including God.

Can you make an argument without resorting to God?

How about: The fetus has a right to it's own life, and it's own bodily autonomy?

I don't necessarily agree with that, but at least it's based on a rational premise.

The only person who never seems to come into the equation is the father. I think that he should have some rights in this situation. Getting pregnant is the consequences of sexual activity and if you are not prepared to accept them, then abstain. People need to grow up and take responsibility. It shows in all we do. Rape and incest or the mother's life are a different matter. But if a man truly wants his child, it could be tramatic to have him have no choice but to see it aborted. I taught my son's personal responsibility, if you have sex, you should be prepared to be a parent. Abortion is not a birth control, it is for those times when the woman had no choice in getting pregnant or if it threatens her life.
