Some skiers drive east for their mountains. Others head north. Still others go West — to West Mountain.
In 1967, the Brandt brothers and their wives were running the ski center on West Mountain Road in Queensbury. The Brandts added and improved each season. By ’67, skiers were on the popular “Go-Go” trail, almost an open slope, and the advanced intermediate “Holy Mackerel” trail, among others. In January of ’67, the gang celebrated the opening of a new ski lounge. They were also glad to see young people strapping up and sliding down.
