Emerson, Lake & Palmer was considered a super group in 1973. The progressive rock musicians had competition in the Capital Region — from Kilrain, Castelli & Savarese.
The latter trio preferred dance for artistic expression. Robin Kilrain, Patricia Castelli and Ann Savarese performed a dance choreography titled “Newspaper” at Saint Agnes School in Loudonville on Jan. 19. There were other ’70s groups in action during the first month of ’73.
Officers from Local 301, International Union of Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers, gathered for a photograph before beginning work for 13,000 workers at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady. And Ice lovers from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Figure Skating Club practiced for the “Ice Crystals of 1973” show.
