Ventfort Hall, former home of Sarah and George Morgan, was built in 1893 and saved from demolition by the Ventfort Hall Association in 1997. It is now home to the Museum of the Gilded Age.
Ventfort Hall in Lenox, Mass., was the 1893 home of George and Sarah Morgan, and now houses the Museum of the Gilded Age, a period in American history generally covering the second half of the 19th century. It was a time when rich and prominent American families, such as the Morgans, the Duponts and the Vanderbilts, to name a few, began looking for summer homes away from the major population centers of New York City and Boston.
