Manny Lucero, a Mexican featherweight who fights out of Albany, took on undefeated Irish featherweight champion Patrick Hyland in Atlantic City on Jan. 28. Lucero lost by decision. Gazette columnist Carl Strock was there to observe and take these photos. Posted on January 30, 2012.
Patrick Hyland, featherweight champion of Ireland, landed a shot on Manny Lucero in the main event at Resorts Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. Hyland won a unanimous decision. Lucero gave him a good battle.
Manny Lucero of Albany entered the ring in Atlantic City wearing a Mexican lucha libre mask, which is what professional wrestlers wear in Mexico. He removed it, or course, for the fight.
