Vintage planes headed to museum
The Empire State Aerosciences Museum in Glenville will be receiving aircraft that was on display at The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City. Posted on April 20, 2012.
A MiG-15 will be one of the aircraft that ESAM will receive from the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. The MiG-15 was the first successful Soviet jet fighter, and was an icon of the Korean War.
A Mikoyan Gurevich MIG-15 aircraft is removed from the deck of the The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum on Wednesday in New York City. The plane will soon be on display at the Empire State Aerosciences Museum in Glenville.
The Douglas F-3D Skynight that will be featured at the Empire State Aerosciences Museum was actually flown out of Schnenectady County at the GE testing center in the 1950s.
