About: This carriage was built in 1964-65 by Harry J. West of Middleburgh as a replica of a steam carriage that his father, William S. West assisted Charles Burgett in building, in 1900, in Middleburgh NY. It has a 3 speed motorcycle transmission with reverse, chain drive and a 1-cylinder Wisconsin engine. After many years of dormancy, the carriage is being overhauled for light driving, shows and parades.
