A total of 77 students from the F. Donald Myers Education Center, the Saratoga Springs campus of Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES, were vying for prizes and scholarship money at the regional SkillsUSA competition. The regional competition, on Wednesday took place at Schenectady County Community College, Stratton Air National Guard Base, and the Albany Career and Technical Education of Capital Region BOCES. It pits the top winners from local competitions from eight technical schools from northeastern New York. In addition to WSWHE BOCES, students came from Capital Region BOCES, Questar III and Schoharie Career and Tech Center. This was a regional high school competition in engine repairs, auto body work, welding, carpentry, and nursing. At Stratton Air National Guard Base, Josh Shaw, foreground and Brendon Osher are challenged with body work on fenders.
