For years, industrial sites that once fueled the city’s economy have sat idle and deteriorating in and around residential areas. Now, the brownfields are presenting an opportunity for residents to re-invent their neighborhoods.
Tony Leggiero, an employee of the City of Amsterdam Recreation Department levels up of one of the bronze plaques that he has refurbished on the World War I Veteran's Memorial located at the corner of West Main St and Guy Park Ave in Amsterdam on Monday afternoon. Leggiero and staff have been getting the area fixed up in preperation for this Saturday's Veteran's Day parade that will commence at 1:30 pm at Caroline St. and march west on Guy Park Ave.
