Anthony and Filomena Fiacco never dreamed when they planted a blue spruce in their front yard nearly 30 years ago that the tree would someday be on display in Albany as an official state holiday tree.
Marcella Sembrich, one of the great sopranos of the late 19th century, headed the vocal departments of the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia and the Juilliard School in New York City. Her vocal studio on the shores of Lake George now houses the Marcella Sembrich Opera Museum.
