Using tongs, Jim Moran sticks a long, thin piece of wire into the small but very hot fire of the blacksmith’s forge.
When he removes the metal, the tip is white hot.
On June 20, Bateaux Below members (left-to-right) Paul Cornell, Joseph W. Zarzynski, Steve Resler, and John Farrell sank this replica of a 1758 bateau "wreck" in 4 ft. of water off the southwest corner of Lake George. The replica was built by 7th and 8th grade students from Maple Avenue Middle School and the replica looks like a 250 year old bateau shipwreck.
