Police: Schenectady man hit father in head with beer can

— A city man used a can to hit his 82-year-old father in the head earlier this month, authorities said.

Steven L. Williams, 52, of Close Street, faces one count of second-degree assault, a felony. Police arrested him Monday.

Williams is accused of striking his father at a Congress Street address with a can of beer just before 7 p.m. Sept. 2, according to papers filed in court. The 82-year-old suffered a cut, swelling and redness above his right eye, according to papers.
