Controlled burn happening in Albany today

— The Albany Pine Bush Preserve Commission is conducting a controlled burn today in the city of Albany.

The prescribed fire began around 11:30 a.m. east of the intersection of Old State Road and New Karner Road, according to an announcement on the preserve’s Facebook page. It should be be finished by dark.

The preserve’s Karner Barrens East Trailhead number 1 will be closed until Friday morning.
