Parts of New York State Canal system remain closed due to high water

Stretches of the New York State Canal system remain closed by high water from heavy rains that fell across the region last week. The state Canal Corp. said Monday that the Erie Canal is closed from Lock E-7 in Niskayuna to Lock E-30 in Macedon in Wayne County, and from Lock E-32 at Pittsford to the Genesee River.
