Schenectady council accepts audit favorable to city

For once, the city’s finances were easy. The Schenectady City Council accepted the 2013 audit after just a few minutes’ discussion Monday, a far cry from the detailed questioning when the city was in deficit spending for years. If permissible, the police department should invest some funds working with Ellis MH unit, the YMCA, and the Community Services Council to form a rational compassionate 'Strike Force' to engage the folks loitering and malingering around the Y. This would make the area more safe and attractive.
