Alleged drunk driver hits pedestrian in Schenectady

Schenectady Police accident investigators closed State St. to Close St. on Friday morning after a 5:30  am accident involving an auto and pedestrian. The pedestrian was taken to Ellis Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The person driving the car was taken into police custody.

A Schenectady man has been charged with driving while intoxicated following a Friday morning car-pedestrian accident on State Street. Jason Gonzales, 41, was charged with aggravated DWI, a class A misdemeanor, and first-degree vehicular assault and assault recklessly causing serious injury, both class D felonies, Schenectady police said.
