Alleged drunk driver hits pedestrian in Schenectady
SCHENECTADY A Schenectady man has been charged with driving while intoxicated following a Friday morning car-pedestrian accident on State Street.
Jason Gonzales, 41, was charged with aggravated DWI, a class A misdemeanor, and first-degree vehicular assault and assault recklessly causing serious injury, both class D felonies, Schenectady police said.
The victim, who was not identified by authorities, was treated on the scene by members of the Schenectady Fire Department and taken by Mohawk Ambulance to Albany Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The accident occurred at about 5:30 a.m. in the area of Mohawk Ambulance at 793 State St.
