Union heads to NCAA Frozen Four after beating Providence, 3-1

For the second time in three years, Union is headed back to the NCAA Hockey Frozen Four.

Max Novak had a goal and an assist lifting the top-ranked Dutchmen to a 3-1 win over Providence in the East Regional final in Bridgeport, Conn.

Mat Bodie and Matt Hatch also scored for the Dutchmen, who are the first team to punch their ticket for the Frozen Four. They will face the Northeast Regional champion in the semifinals April 10 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The final is April 12.
