Man ticketed after collision with Galway school bus
GALWAY A Galway man who broke his leg was ticketed Monday following a head-on collision with a Galway school bus, state police said.
Andrew Trosan, 22, was charged with failure to keep right, state police spokesman Michael Cepiel said.
Trosan told the investigating officer he was eastbound on Galway Road in a pickup truck at 4:14 p.m. when he fell asleep and went into the path of a Galway Central School District bus driven by Casimir Dziegiel, 71. The bus had no students on it. The Galway Fire Department was called after flames erupted in the pickup’s engine compartment.
Trosan was taken to Saratoga Hospital for treatment of a fractured leg. His infant son, who police said was properly secured, was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Dziegiel complained of shoulder pain but didn’t seek treatment, Cepiel said.
