Comment period extended for New York state's high-speed rail plans

The period for public comment on plans for high-speed rail service on the Empire Corridor has been extended until April 30, state Department of Transportation Commissioner Joan McDonald announced Friday. The plan to improve passenger and rail service between New York City and Niagara Falls is currently going through a mandated federal environmental review.
