Three injured, one killed in crash on Thruway in Bethlehem
BETHLEHEM New York State Police say one person died and three were injured in a one-vehicle crash on the Thruway south of Albany.
Troopers say the wreck happened around 8:30 this morning in Interstate 87’s northbound lanes in the town of Bethlehem, about 10 miles south of Albany.
Police say a 2000 GMC sport utility vehicle overturned, ejecting three of four occupants. A passenger, 64-year-old Margaret Seyfarth of Kingston, was pronounced dead at Albany Medical Center. The driver, 65-year-old Paul Seyfarth of Kingston, was listed in critical condition.
Two other passengers, 86-year-old Doris Seyfarth and 60-year-old Susan Cottington, both from Kingston, were also hospitalized. Troopers say Doris Seyfarth, the only one wearing a seatbelt, had the least-severe injuries.
The cause of the accident hasn’t been determined.
