Schenectady man charged with biting police officer in knee

A city man fought with police officers earlier this month, biting one in the knee in the process, authorities said. Richard T. Cook, 28, of Howard Street, faces one count each of second-degree assault, a felony, and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor. He is accused of biting Officer Nicholas Mannix as police tried to get him under control at Ellis Hospital on March 8, according to papers filed in court.
