Gloversville woman allegedly robs store with BB gun

— A Gloversville woman is facing felony robbery and firearm charges after allegedly holding up a Cumberland Farms in the city with a BB gun Thursday night.

Gloversville police were dispatched at 10 p.m. Thursday to an armed robbery in progress at the North Main Street Cumberland Farms. When they arrived, a woman fled with a yet to be released amount of cash.

Offers searched the area and eventually found Velvet Reed-Fulton, 29, of 25 Helwig St. hiding on a porch a few blocks away from the Cumberland Farms.

She matched the descriptions provided by store clerks and was arrested.

According to information released by the Gloversville police department Friday, the stolen money and firearm were found stashed in various locations in the area of Reed-Fulton's alleged flight.

The gun, initially described to police simply as a handgun turned out to be a black BB gun.

Reed-Fulton was charged with second degree robbery and criminal use of a firearm, both felonies, along with misdemeanor petit larceny and menacing.
