Albany Law offering legal assistance to veterans on March 22

Free legal services will be offered to veterans during Albany Law School’s Veterans’ Law Day on March 22.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Albany Law School, 80 New Scotland Ave.

Advice and assistance will be offered in a variety of areas, including drafting and executing wills, powers of attorney and health care proxies; personal bankruptcy matters; veterans’ benefits; matrimonial and family law; lost or incorrect military documents; and Social Security concerns.

The event will also include peer mentoring, education and financial counseling, as well as information on therapeutic animal services, employment and small businesses.

Albany Law School’s Veterans’ Rights Project, a student-led program, has served more than 200 veterans in the past two years with a variety of free legal services.
