Union members heading to Albany for lobby day

Union members from across New York are headed to Albany for the annual labor lobby day. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees and the Civil Service Employees Association are bringing in busloads of union members from Buffalo, Rochester and the Finger Lakes region. And the union will scream and rant and rave to the podium. And their leader will call the governor a moron again. Then they will meet with empty legislators offices, get on the bus, and go home.

All for naught. Waste of effort from an organization past its time. Years ago unions would work to get better raises and benefits to bring their members into the middle class, and they worked for the membership. They were the real unions in america.

Today's shameless collection of unions exist to feed at the trough of the members money. They bargain, if you can call it that, downward, in a pathetic display of representation that has no substance whatsoever.
