Pair accused of $13,000 shoplifting spree

A duo from Troy has been charged with shoplifting over $13,000 worth of merchandise from Crossgates Mall, according to Guilderland police. Melissa Russell, 23, of 44 Campbell Ave., and Scott Cleland, 26, of 100 Project Road, were reportedly trying to steal jewelry at the Macy’s department store at around 3 p.m. Sunday when they were arrested.
