Abele was found by a female companion in his Pearl Street home and pronounced dead by the county coronor Thursday. The companion was detained and questioned at length, but ultimately released following his autopsy.
State police spokesman Mark Ciepel said an autopsy performed on Abele revealed nothing out of the ordinary. He said there is no indication of trauma or wounds that would suggest a homicide.
“An autopsy showed the manner of death is not suspicious,” he said Friday, “And there were a host medical issues as well.
Ciepel said the Abele's cause of death and the investigation will remain ongoing, pending a toxicology exam. For now, he said there's no reason to believe Abele's death resulted from foul play.
