Worker killed in GloFo industrial accident

A construction worker was killed Thursday in an accident at GlobalFoundries in Malta, state police said. Troopers identified the victim as Michael Hauf, 54, of Saranac, who was working on the Technology Development Center project at the Fab 8 campus when the accident occurred shortly before 6:40 p.m. Hauf, who was employed by John Danforth Construction, was helping five other workers move an industrial air exchanger into a fourth floor opening, troopers said.
