Mechanicville man sentenced for forgery

— A Mechanicville man was sentenced to 2 1⁄3 to 7 years in prison Friday on two forgery charges.

Edward J. Dancz, 39, of Cypress Street, was sentenced by Saratoga County Court Judge Jerry J. Scarano after pleading guilty in April to two counts of second-degree forgery.

The forgeries took place in Malta in June and November 2013,.

Dancz was also given a concurrent sentence of 11⁄3 to 4 years for a guilty plea to fourth-degree possession of stolen property. That was in connection with an incident in 2013 in Saratoga Springs.
