Montgomery County casino proposal denied application concessions

The state Gaming Commission will not grant the proposed Montgomery County casino the concessions they had previously asked for, according to an email from siting board spokesman Lee Park. Clairvest Group Inc. and Great Canadian Gaming Corp. had stated that to move forward with their plans for a casino resort near Thruway Exit 27 they would need a 60 day extension on the application deadline and a $25 million reduction in the licensing fee. Amsterdam was not going to get it anyway. The group will probably withdraw from the application process no later than monday.
