Montgomery County lifts state of emergency

Montgomery County lifted its state of emergency as of 2 p.m. today. The state of emergency had been in place since Friday, after flash flooding hit the Capital Region. In Montgomery County, several roads were flooded and homes evacuated, particularly in the towns of Amsterdam and Root.
