— Search efforts have been called off for the day for a woman missing after a raft she was riding overturned Friday night on the rain-swollen Kayaderosseras Creek.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office said it called off its search about 4:30 p.m. Saturday and will resume Sunday morning.

Sheriff's deputies were notified about 7:40 p.m. Friday that a raft carrying a family of five on the Kayaderosseras Creek passed its scheduled exit point due to fast-moving water. An adult male and three children managed to make to shore, but an adult female was unable to join them, and the family was unable to located her.

The accident happened as the area was being hit with heavy rain that was causing flooding in a number of places throughout the region.

Deputies said they later received a report of a body floating face down in the creek by the Ralph Street bridge.

The sheriff's office is being assisted in the search by the Malta Ridge, Ballston Spa and Arvin Hart fire departments, including patrols on all bridges and a search of the creek by airboat.
