The Tri-City ValleyCats opened defense of their New York-Penn League championship Friday night with flawless defense, despite taking no infield for the past 48 hours. The ValleyCats beat the Connecticut Tigers, 3-2, with solid pitching from starter Austin Chrismon and small-ball at-bats from the top of their lineup.
