— A Hopewell Junction man is facing boating while intoxicated charges after a stop Sunday by State Police on marine patrol on Great Sacandaga Lake.

According to State Police, Stephen Greene, 42, was stopped after two youths on his board were observed not wearing life jackets. In the course of an interview an odor of alcohol was detected, and he subsequently failed a field sobriety test, authorities said. A subsequent blood-alcohol test came back at .18 percent, above the legal limit, State Police said.

Greene was released on a appearance ticket for Northampton Town Court.
