— Albany police are looking for a man and a woman who assaulted a gas station clerk during a robbery Tuesday.

Officers responded to the Sunoco at 1221 Western Ave. around 10 p.m. for a report of a robbery, according to a news release issued Wednesday.

The clerk told them that a man and woman had entered the store, displaying what looked like a knife and demanding money. The pair then punched and kicked the clerk several times before fleeing the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The clerk suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, then taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital for further evaluation, according to the release.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Albany Police Detective Division at 462-8039.
