College Baseball: Siena edges Baptist

— Vincent Citro ripped a one-out single in the bottom of the 10th to score Andres Ortiz with the winning run, as Siena rallied past Dallas Baptist, 9-8, for the Saints’ first-ever NCAA tournament win Saturday at Lupton Stadium.

Citro, John Rooney and Dan Swain each had two hits and two RBI, and Dave Hoffman (Niskayuna) added two hits for the 27-32 Saints, who play again today at 3:30.

Late Friday night, TCU beat Siena, 2-1, in 11 innings, as Boomer White hit a single with two outs.

Siena pitcher Matt Gage, a Broadalbin-Perth graduate, gave up six hits and struck out five in nine innings, while Hoffmann tripled and doubled.
