One of the most controversial and challenging members of the Schenectady City Council has resigned. Councilman Carl Erikson tendered his resignation at the end of Monday’s council meeting. I spoke on miscellaneous business before councilman Erickson made his public announcement, hence my silence. I hold Carl in the highest regard as a colleague and understand his plight juggling family, career and politics. I will definitely miss his independent views and wish him all the best in the future.
