Region’s jobless rate continues to improve

Unemployment fell across the region and state in June. The Capital Region’s unemployment rate fell 1.4 percentage points, from 6.5 percent in June 2013 to 5.1 percent last month, according to preliminary figures released Tuesday by the state Department of Labor. The only other upstate region with a lower rate was again the Ivy League metro of Ithaca, at 4.5 percent.
