Northway breakdown paves way for arrests

State police said they confiscated heroin from a pair of fugitives whose vehicle had broken down on the Northway last week. When troopers came to the disabled vehicle July 3, they discovered the driver — Shawn Taft, 43, of Schenectady — was the subject of an arrest warrant out of Schenectady on a misdemeanor charge and took him into custody.
