Schenectady man accused of swallowing drugs
A felony evidence-tampering charge was filed against a city man who swallowed a small bag that appeared to contain drugs before officers could get to it, authorities said.
Elijah Gholson, 23, of First Avenue, faces one count of tampering with physical evidence, along with misdemeanor counts of obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.
He is accused of swallowing the bag early Monday morning in the area of Albany and Craig streets to prevent it from being used as evidence against him. The bag had an off-white substance in it resembling drugs, according to papers filed in court.
