Rochester man charged in Schenectady gunpoint robbery

The gunpoint theft of money and a car key from a victim has resulted in a robbery count against a Rochester man, authorities said. Thomas K. Laverpol, 23, was charged Monday with one count of second-degree robbery, a felony. Laverpol is accused of taking the money and car key from the victim just after 4 p.m. Monday on Wright Avenue while displaying what appeared to be a gun, according to papers filed in court.
