Albany Facebook robber gets prison time
ALBANY A man who used Facebook to set up two purchases of electronics that turned into gunpoint robberies was sentenced Wednesday to nine years in prison, Albany County District Attorney’s officials said.
Cee-Quan Collier-Hudson, 20, of Albany, pleaded guilty earlier to one count of first-degree attempted robbery.
The plea was related to a Nov. 22 incident where Collier-Hudson communicated with someone over Facebook under the pretense of purchasing an iPhone. At the meeting, the victim handed over the phone. Collier-Hudson then showed the victim a hidden handgun in his waistband and walked away, officials said.
The plea also satisfies charges related to a similar Nov. 28 incident. There, Collier-Hudson used a different Facebook account to steal a PlayStation 3 in the same manner. An unidentified man with Collier-Hudson pointed a gun at the victims in that case, officials said.
