— Two upstate New York lakeside hotels are offering guests a unique way to chill out this weekend.

The Sagamore Resort in the Adirondacks has built an outdoor bar made entirely of ice. Even the stools are made of ice.

The hotel on an island on Lake George opened its 20-foot-long Glacier Bar last weekend. It took 18,000 pounds of block ice to make the bar, which is only open Friday and Saturday, unless the bitter cold temperatures linger into February.

In the Finger Lakes region, the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel is hosting its third annual ice bar event.

An ice sculptor is using 21,000 pounds of ice to build two large bars and two smaller ones overlooking the southern end of Seneca Lake, with other ice sculptures on display.
