Fire at Washington County farm kills dozens of livestock
EASTON — Firefighters remain at the scene of a barn fire that reportedly has killed dozens of livestock at an eastern New York farm.
Local media outlets report that the blaze was reported around 2 a.m. Monday at Sunset View Farm in the Washington County town of Easton, 25 miles north of Albany.
More than 40 calves reportedly died in the fire, which began with an electric heat lamp.
The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports that the farm dairy calves and heifers for 11 large commercial farm operations in the area.
