Wind chill advisory in effect until 11 a.m.

The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a wind chill advisory for the area until 11 this morning. The warning covers the Mohawk Valley, Catskills, Taconics, Southern Green Mountains, Berkshires, Lake George and Saratoga.

With temperatures of 10 below to 3 above zero and winds of 5 to 15 mph, wind chills could fall as low as 28 below, the weather service says.

Dangerous wind chills can lead to frostbite and hypothermia if precautions are not taken, the weather service says.
