Alleged Rotterdam pharmaceutical thief arrested
ROTTERDAM A Rotterdam CVS pharmacy technician has been arrested, accused of stealing an estimated $62,000 in medication from the store over the past year, police said.
Ronald S. Talbot, Jr., 26, of 1175 Fort Hunter Road, was charged Sunday with one count of second-degree grand larceny, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Talbot is accused of using his position at the Rotterdam CVS Pharmacy to take more than 40 bottles of varying strength Xanax and 50 bottles of Viagra from the store, police said.
Talbot allegedly took the bottles over the past year from the pharmacy. He had worked at the store for eight years.
Police made the arrest after getting information from CVS Loss Prevention and an investigation by Rotterdam detectives.
A search of Talbot’s home then uncovered large quantities of both the Xanax and Viagra, police said.
Talbot was arraigned and ordered held.
