Jeremy Mendrick scored six of his 25 points in overtime to lift Ballston Spa past Saratoga Springs, 71-67, in the completion of a suspended Suburban Council game Thursday night.

The game was halted Tuesday 1:31 into play when a dunk by Saratoga’s Noah Arciero snapped the rim off its mount and left the hoop dangling. Action resumed Thursday with the Blue Streaks leading, 8-3.

Sean Walsh started overtime with a three and had 18 points for the Scotties (5-4, 7-4), and Cliff Stevens added 11 points. Chris Byno scored 20 for the Blue Steeaks (4-4, 6-4), and Jesse Alexander had 12.

Ballston Spa went on a 23-11 fourth-quarter run to grab a 61-58 lead, and Byno’s three with 17 seconds left forced overtime. Mendrick had 10 fourth-quarter points, and Arciero had nine in the frame.

Dylan Hensel scored 12 of his 19 points in the first quarter, and Voorheesville (9-1) raced past non-league foe Rhinebeck, 62-35, for its eighth straight win.
