Schenectady man accused of attacking girlfriend
SCHENECTADY An alleged October attack on a woman has a city man facing felony contempt and other counts, authorities said.
Adam Smith, 46, of Union Street, is accused of punching his girlfriend in the face Oct. 19 at his residence, causing swelling to her jaw. He is also accused of grabbing her by the hair and dragging her through the apartment as she tried to get away.
The alleged incidents occurred while an order of protection was in place, according to court papers.
Smith faces one count of aggravated criminal contempt, a felony, and misdemeanor counts of unlawful imprisonment, assault, criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child and obstructing governmental administration.
He was arrested Jan. 4.
