Rubin selected for job at Fund for Lake George
LAKE GEORGE — Jessica Rubin has joined The Fund for Lake George as director of development and marketing, a new position established to help advance the fund’s legacy strategy.
Rubin brings experience in online communications and development from past positions at several Adirondack nonprofits, including the Adirondack Museum and Silver Bay YMCA at Lake George. She holds a master’s degree in public history, with an emphasis on environmental history, from the University at Albany. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in politics from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
Rubin’s perspectives on website management and social media will help the fund build and sustain an expanding online presence.
Rubin lives with her fiancé, Sam Caldwell, in Bolton Landing.
Mangini joins Ed Lewi Associates
CLIFTON PARK — Ed Lewi Associates has appointed Andrew Mangini as a public relations specialist.
In his role, Mangini will assist with media relations, communications and marketing efforts for the agency’s client base throughout New York and New England.
Prior to joining Ed Lewi Associates, Mangini served as director of communications for the office of state Sen. Catharine M. Young. His public affairs and public relations background also includes a role as field director for former Sen. Roy McDonald’s campaign in 2012 and various positions with the New York State Assembly.
Mangini also spent nearly four years as an account executive with the public relations firm Eric Mower + Associates, where he created and implemented media relations, advocacy and social media programs for a variety of clients, including several Fortune 100 businesses.
Mangini is a graduate of Siena College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in economics and classical studies.
Lasch to lead board for Make-A-Wish
COHOES — Michael Lasch, co-founder and managing director of Pine Street Capital Partners, was recently named chairman of the board of trustees for Make-A-Wish Northeast New York.
Lasch has been a member of the board since 2008, and served as treasurer from 2012-13.
Before starting his career in finance, he served as a congressional aide to former U.S. Rep. Michael McNulty in Washington.
Lasch also serves on the board of the Upstate Venture Association of New York. He and his wife, Alicia, live in Loudonville with their three children.
In related board action, Dr. Matthew Adamo, Sarah McKinney, Gary Sancilio, and Joshua Spiegel were recently named to the board. Board members serving another term are Vice Chairman Reid C. Hutchins, Treasurer Kristen D. Berdar, Secretary Sean Doolan, Paul Bonaquisti, James A. Campone Jr., Brian V. Hannafin and Donald L. Orlando.
Beebe chosen to head library board
AMSTERDAM — The Amsterdam Free Library Board of Trustees has elected Gordon Beebe as its president.
Beebe retired in March 2011 as president and CEO of Fulton County Federal Credit Union. He also serves as board treasurer for the Mohawk Valley Library System, Amsterdam Family YMCA and the Wallins Corners Condominium Association.
The board of trustees also includes John Naple as vice president, Lorraine Heck as secretary, and Jeff Lazarou as treasurer. Trustees include Dr. Anthony D’Addio, William J. Mycek, Amy Liverio, Robin Kappler, Lisbeth Brooks and Tanya Mendez.
