More charges filed against Corinth man after police search
CLIFTON PARK A Corinth man who robbed a Stewart’s Shop in December but was stopped from fleeing by patrons is now facing additional charges after state police executed a search warrant on his vehicle.
Grover Dake, 31, made headlines last month when he allegedly walked into a Stewart’s in Rexford and emptied its register. When he tried to flee, store patrons restrained him in the parking lot until officers arrived to arrest him. At the time, state police found him in possession of Suboxone, a controlled substance used to treat chemical dependency. He was charged with third-degree robbery and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
State police out of Clifton Park are now reporting that they executed a search warrant on the vehicle Dake drove to Stewart’s and discovered contraband items. He now faces additional charges, including seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument and a violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.
Dake has already appeared in the Town of Clifton Park Court for an arraignment on the most recent charges. He was remanded back to Saratoga County Jail and ordered to return to court Feb. 26 at 3 p.m.
