Schenectady man charged in pistol-whipping

An alleged pistol-whipping has resulted in charges against a Schenectady man, authorities said. Daniel B. Harrichan, 19, of Pennsylvania Avenue, faces one count of second-degree assault, a felony, and second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor. He is accused of hitting the victim in the head with a handgun Feb. 15 outside a Crane Street address and with making threatening statements. The victim suffered bleeding and swelling, according to papers filed in court.
